Softball Recap: Timnath Has No Trouble Against Weld Central

Timnath barely beat Weld Central the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cubs were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over the Rebels on Saturday. The result was nothing new for the Cubs, who have now won three contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Lily Miller made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. Miller was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one double.

In other batting news, Zadia Diaz was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Makynlee Tracy-Lunsford was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Timnath lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

The victory made it two in a row for Timnath and bumps their season record up to 4-5-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 8 runs in those games. As for Weld Central, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Looking ahead, Timnath will take on Severance at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Weld Central, they will welcome Lyons at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
