Basketball Game Preview: Red Lion Lions vs. Dallastown Wildcats

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Lions face off against the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a eight-game winning streak alive.

Red Lion is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They came out on top against West York Area by a score of 55-44. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 12th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 182nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Julia Sedora continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 7 for 9 en route to 19 points in addition to seven rebounds and five steals. What's more, she also racked up two blocks, the most she's had since back in December of 2024. Bekah Sedora was another key player, putting up 13 points and six boards.

Red Lion was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Dallastown). They blew past New Oxford, posting a 63-32 victory. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 23 points or more this season.

Dallastown's win bumped their record up to 9-1-1. As for Red Lion, their victory bumped their record up to 23-1.

Red Lion came up short against Dallastown in their previous matchup back in January, falling 33-26. Can Red Lion avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
