Basketball Recap: Temple City Takes a Loss

Temple City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the La Canada Spartans, falling 67-43. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 557th, while the Spartans are ranked 190th).

When it comes to explaining why Temple City lost, don't look at Kristi Huynh. Despite the final result, she posted 20 points and six steals. That was a full 46.5% of Temple City's points, marking the third time in a row she's scored more than a third of the team's points.

Leading La Canada to victory were Jennifer Musso and Malia Harney. Musso went 9 for 20 en route to 21 points and four steals, while Harney went 5 of 7 on her way to 14 points along with six boards and five steals. Musso's evening made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kennedy Hunt, who went 5 of 8 on her way to 11 points.

Temple City's loss dropped their record down to 13-13. As for La Canada, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 21-6.

As of now, neither Temple City nor La Canada have any future games scheduled.
