Basketball Game Preview: East Valley Falcons vs. Vaughn White Tigers

East Valley is 0-10 against Vaughn since January of 2019 but things could change on Thursday. The East Valley Falcons will be playing at home against the Vaughn White Tigers at 5:30 p.m. Neither East Valley nor Vaughn posted many points in their last games, so it might be the defenses that decide this one.

East Valley is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game back in December of 2024. They took a blow against Sherman Oaks CES, falling 79-7. The game marked the Falcons' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Jordin Lim was East Valley's leading scorer, having posted four points. Milan Riley held things down on the boards with seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, Vaughn was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They took a hard 38-22 fall against Triumph Charter.

East Valley will have to contain Estefany Contreras as she made an impact in Vaughn's last game. She almost dropped a double-double on 14 boards and nine blocks. Contreras is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last 11 games she's played.

Vaughn's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for East Valley, they now have a losing record at 2-3.

Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: East Valley has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 27.4 boards per game. However, it's not like Vaughn struggles in that department as they've been averaging 32.2 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
