Recap: Jefferson Jaguars vs. Apple Valley Eagles
The Jefferson Jaguars entered their tilt with the Apple Valley Eagles with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. Jefferson secured a 17-13 W over Apple Valley on Saturday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Jefferson also won the last time the pair played two weeks ago.
Jonathan Weber was the offensive standout of the match as he rushed for 180 yards and a touchdown.
Despite the defeat, Apple Valley saw an underclassman step up: Q Barnslater picked up 126 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Jefferson's victory was their sixth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 8-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 26.5 points per game. As for Apple Valley, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.
Jefferson will square off against St. Thomas Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Thomas Academy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 277 points over their last seven games. Apple Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
