Softball Recap: Bishop Neumann Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Bishop Neumann and Central City squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Bishop Neumann had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Bison by a score of 5-4. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Bison this season, with their most recent loss being a 5-3 defeat on Thursday.

Bishop Neumann saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aubrey Fujan, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Bishop Neumann and nudges their season record down to 25-10. Even worse, they were so close both times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.5 runs. As for Central City, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 28-8.

As of now, neither Bishop Neumann nor the Bison have any future games scheduled.
