Softball Recap: Berthoud Takes a Loss

Berthoud lost against Golden back in August of 2021 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Spartans took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Demons. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Berthoud got a big performance out of Jessica Jorissen, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI. Another player making a difference was Camryn Olivas, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI.

Berthoud's loss dropped their record down to 14-10. As for Golden, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season.

Berthoud will challenge Green Mountain at 12:15 p.m. on Saturday. The Spartans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rams have averaged an impressive 8.6 runs per game this season. As for Golden, they will square off against Windsor at 12:15 p.m. on Saturday. The Wizards' pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so the Demons' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
