Baseball Recap: Raytown South Cardinals vs. Raytown Bluejays
For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last five times Raytown South and Raytown have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Tuesday. The Cardinals fell just short of the Bluejays by a score of 6-5. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bluejays this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-3 back in April.
Marcellus Goudeau was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
