Basketball Game Preview: Sanger West Hornets vs. Justin Garza Guardians

The Sanger West Hornets will head out on the road to challenge the Justin Garza Guardians at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Sanger West will be strutting in after a victory while Justin Garza will be coming in after a loss.

Last Thursday, Sanger West didn't have too much trouble with McLane as they won 46-29. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Hornets.

Meanwhile, Justin Garza was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 45-42 heartbreaker at the hands of Madera. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Guardians have suffered since December 9, 2023.

Sanger West will need focus on slowing down Brianna Brooks, one of several Justin Garza players who made an impact when they last played. She posted 13 points. The dominant performance gave Brooks a new career-high in points. Tyla Maxey was another key player, putting up ten points.
