Recap: Mountain View Academy Mustangs vs. KIPP San Jose Collegiate Wolfpack
The Mountain View Academy Mustangs put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past KIPP San Jose Collegiate 54-11 at home. Mountain View Academy's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Mountain View Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Audrey Mackey, who scored 15 points along with two steals. Mackey is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Iva Jayme was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five steals.
Mountain View Academy pushed their record up to 5-0 with that win, which was their ninth straight at home. As for KIPP San Jose Collegiate, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mountain View Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against East Palo Alto Academy at 4:30 p.m. on January 16th. East Palo Alto Academy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than eight points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for KIPP San Jose Collegiate, they will head out on the road to face off against DCP Alum Rock at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
