Basketball Game Preview: Morro Bay Pirates vs. Sierra Chieftains

The Morro Bay Pirates will square off against the Sierra Chieftains at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Morro Bay is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They blew past Nipomo 55-26.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sierra). They claimed a resounding 80-39 victory over Hanford West. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Chieftains.

Sierra's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 21-7. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 22.3 points over those games. As for Morro Bay, their victory bumped their record up to 11-15.

Morro Bay couldn't quite finish off Sierra in their previous meeting back in November of 2024 and fell 44-41. Can Morro Bay avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
