Baseball Recap: Laney Takes a Loss

Laney was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 16-1 to the Augusta Prep Day Cavaliers. If the Wildcats were looking for revenge after losing 15-0 to the Cavaliers when the teams met back in February of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Laney's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Augusta Prep Day, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.

Laney will welcome Josey at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Josey has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11 runs per game on average), something Laney will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Augusta Prep Day, they are taking a road trip to take on Briarwood Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
