Soccer Game Preview: Callaway vs. Morgan County

The Callaway Cavaliers are taking a road trip to challenge the Morgan County Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Callaway is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to seven goals on Friday, they were much more limited against Jackson on Tuesday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Red Devils. Callaway's defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Morgan County kept a clean sheet against Westside on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 9-0 margin over the Seminoles. Considering Morgan County have won five contests by more than three goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The victory made it two in a row for Morgan County and bumps their season record up to 8-2. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 19 goals over those two games. As for Callaway, their loss dropped their record down to 10-5.

Callaway came up short against Morgan County in their previous meeting on March 6th, falling 2-0. Can Callaway avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
