Soccer Game Preview: Elk Grove vs. Monterey Trail

The Elk Grove Thundering Herd are taking a road trip to square off against the Monterey Trail Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Elk Grove's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for nine straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

On Wednesday, Elk Grove didn't have quite enough to beat Pleasant Grove and fell 2-1. That's two games in a row now that the Thundering Herd have lost by just one goal.

Meanwhile, Monterey Trail came into Monday's match having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They and Sheldon finished up on equal footing with a 3-3 draw on Monday. There's a chance things could've gone differently had the Mustangs not been charged with a red card from Arianna Ramirez-Cortez.

Monterey Trail hit Sheldon with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Nicole Gonzalez, Annabel Ezeh, and Hailey Yang.

Elk Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7-2. Monterey Trail's draw makes their record 7-6-4 this season.
