While Luella put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Douglass. The Lions put the hurt on the Astros with a sharp 17-0 victory. Considering the Lions have won three contests by more than 15 runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Zaena Harris was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Harris was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That's the most hits she has posted since back in September of 2024.
In other batting news, Kennedy Reliford was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with five stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Jamiah Barnes was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with four stolen bases and three runs.
Luella hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive matchups.
Luella's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Douglass, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 3-4.
