Basketball Game Preview: Monroe Vikings vs. Chavez Eagles

Monroe is 1-9 against Chavez since December of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Vikings will host the Eagles at 3:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

On Monday, Monroe was beaten by Grant 72-5. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1261st, while the Lancers are ranked 366th).

Patricia Delgado was Monroe's leading scorer, having posted three points. Camila Guzman held things down on the boards with four rebounds.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 65-16, which was the final score in Chavez's tilt against North Hollywood on Monday.

Monroe's loss dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Chavez, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-14.

Things could have been worse for Monroe, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 31-16 loss to Chavez when the teams last played back in January.
