Football Recap: Cherokee Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Cherokee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 21-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wheeler Wildcats. That's two games in a row now that the Warriors have lost by exactly 13 points.

When it comes to explaining why Cherokee lost, don't look at Brandon Hamilton. Despite the final result, he rushed for 123 yards and one touchdown. Hamilton's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 123 rushing yards.

Wheeler got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Greg Kendrick out in front who rushed for 116 yards and one score. Patrick McCollough was another key player, throwing for 223 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 10.6 yards per attempt.

Cherokee's record now sits at 1-6. As for Wheeler, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-5.
