Baseball Recap: MICDS Rams vs. Mehlville Panthers

MICDS proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by nine) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 victory over the Mehlville Panthers.

Luke Condrin looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Cole Levison was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played. Dunnen McGaughey was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

MICDS is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Mehlville, their defeat dropped their record down to 22-8.

As of now, neither MICDS nor the Panthers have any future games scheduled.
