Baseball Recap: Central Victorious

Central hadn't done well against South Paulding recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Lions came out on top against the Spartans by a score of 5-2. This was payback for the Lions, who suffered a 4-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Trent Harrison tossed a big game, pitching 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits.

On the hitting side, Jaylon Allen was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Allen is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Joe Turner, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

The victory made it two in a row for Central and bumps their season record up to 20-7. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games. As for South Paulding, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-14 record this season.

Central will head out to challenge Northside at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for South Paulding, they will welcome Dunwoody at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
