Soccer Recap: Simi Valley Comes Up Short

Simi Valley managed to keep up with Moorpark until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Pioneers lost 3-0 to the Musketeers. While losing is never fun, Simi Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 166th, while Moorpark are ranked 15th).

Simi Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 9-4-3. As for Moorpark, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-2-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Simi Valley will square off against rival Royal at 7:15 p.m. on February 3. Meanwhile, Moorpark is set to face off against their familiar foe Camarillo at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
