Palatine hit Rolling Meadows with a six-run seventh inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Mustangs lost 13-7 to the Pirates. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor in this series.

Joe Brigham made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Quinn Hextall, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Rolling Meadows' loss dropped their record down to 17-8. As for Buffalo Grove, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-17.

Buffalo Grove suffered a grim 14-4 defeat to Rolling Meadows in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can the Bison avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
