Basketball Recap: Conemaugh Township's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

After a string of four wins, Conemaugh Township's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a hard 45-30 fall against the United Lions. The game marked the Indians' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Loss or not, Conemaugh Township got some senior leadership from Katie Wiley and Ashlyn Fetterman. Wiley posted 12 points and five steals, while Fetterman earned six points and seven boards. The dominant performance gave Fetterman a new career-high in rebounds.

Even though they lost, Conemaugh Township smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as United only pulled down eight offensive boards.

United's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Braleigh James, who went 5 of 11 en route to 13 points and four steals. Another player making a difference was Lilly McGinnis, who went 6 for 15 on her way to 14 points in addition to seven assists and five boards.

Conemaugh Township's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for United, the win got them back to even at 5-5.

Conemaugh Township wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 34-25 victory against West Shamokin on the 9th. As for United, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 62-29 loss against River Valley on the 9th.
