Basketball Recap: Palm Springs Now 10-2 over Last 12 Games

Palm Springs won the last time they faced Desert Hot Springs and things went their way on Saturday too. The Palm Springs Indians enjoyed a cozy 46-29 win over the Desert Hot Springs Golden Eagles. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 439th, while the Golden Eagles are ranked 932nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Palm Springs' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Eiresslee Wells, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 15 boards. Those 18 points gave Wells a new career-high. Shayla Bates was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.

Palm Springs has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. As for Desert Hot Springs, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Palm Springs and Redlands East Valley will round out the year against one another at at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Palm Springs' defense has only allowed 28.8 points per game this season, so Redlands East Valley's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Desert Hot Springs, they will face off against Yucca Valley at 11:00 a.m. on Monday. Desert Hot Springs is facing Yucca Valley at the right time seeing as Yucca Valley is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
