Baseball Game Preview: Bulloch Academy Gators vs. Gatewood Gators

Bulloch Academy will face off against Gatewood at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bulloch Academy's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Gatewood's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Bulloch Academy lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Pinewood Christian, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's matchup. Bulloch Academy was the clear victor by an 18-6 margin over Pinewood Christian on Friday. Considering the Gators have won seven contests by more than eight runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Gatewood entered their tilt with Brentwood on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the War Eagles by a score of 7-2.

John Wallace Thompson and Lawson Moore were a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Thompson didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Meanwhile, Moore tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave Thompson a new career-high in strikeouts (five). At the plate, Thompson went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI, while Moore scored a run while going 2-for-2.

In other pitching news, Jackson Love looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Connor Mitchem, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February. Another was Drew Love, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Gatewood's win bumped their record up to 12-5. As for Bulloch Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 12-4.
