Softball Recap: Colcord Has No Trouble Against Ketchum

Colcord never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Ketchum Warriors with a sharp 8-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Hornets in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won five in a row.

Shae Downing made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over seven innings pitched. Downing was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one run and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gracie Evans, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Jenna Simmons was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and two RBI.

The win got Colcord back to even at 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Colcord will face off against Hulbert at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ketchum, they will venture away from home to take on Wyandotte at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
