Basketball Recap: Council Rock South Takes Down Spring-Ford in a Playoff Battle

Council Rock South had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They enjoyed a cozy 57-38 win over the Spring-Ford Rams on Wednesday. Given the Golden Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 33rd in Pennsylvania, while the Rams are ranked 91st in Pennsylvania), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

When it comes to explaining why Spring-Ford lost, don't look at Devon Chamberlain. Despite the final result, she posted 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ciena Platt, who had five points.

The victory made it two in a row for Council Rock South and bumps their season record up to 22-5. As for Spring-Ford, their loss dropped their record down to 20-9.

Looking ahead, Council Rock South will head out on the road to square off against Downingtown West at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Spring-Ford, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Abington at 4:00 p.m. Spring-Ford is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.7 points per game this season.
