Volleyball Recap: Kokomo Comes Up Short

Kokomo managed to slip by Eastern the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Wildkats came up short against the Comets on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Wildkats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

While Kokomo was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-14, 25-20.

Myla Lacy paced Kokomo's offense, picking up seven kills. Lacy got some help from Torre Willis and her ten assists. Willis was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Eastern was led to victory by Savannah Smith and Lauren Hendricks. Smith had six digs and three aces, while Hendricks had nine digs and two aces. The dominant performance also gave Smith a new career-high in assists (13).

Kokomo now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Eastern, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Kokomo didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Elwood on the 2nd. As for Eastern, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Western on the 27th.
