Football Recap: Triton Comes Up Short

Triton fell victim to Union Pines and their airtight defense on Friday. They were beaten by the Vikings 56-0. Having soared to a lofty 41 points in the game before, the Hawks' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Carson Strickland threw for 29 yards while completing 80% of his passes. Evan Galicia was his top target, picking up 32 receiving yards. On the ground, Jermaine Prince rushed for 54 yards.

Union Pines' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Adrian Colon, who rushed for 138 yards and a pair of TDs on only ten carries. Tyler Thomas was another key back, rushing for 106 yards and two touchdowns.

Triton dropped their record down to 3-5 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Union Pines, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.

Triton has already played their next contest, a 41-0 loss against South Johnston on the 23rd. As for Union Pines, they are taking a road trip to take on Lee County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
