Liberty gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Tri-Valley Bears 80-39. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 46-13.
Liberty got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Adrien Ferguson out in front who shot 50% from the field en route to 26 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Zach Alvord, who went 7-for-11 to rack up 20 points and five steals.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Liberty is packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will challenge Port Jervis at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Tri-Valley, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Eldred at 5:30 p.m. on the 15th.
