Kokomo had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top against the Western Panthers by a score of 3-1. The Wildkats have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Panthers, too.
Kokomo had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 23-25, 27-25, 25-16, 25-18.
Kokomo had a senior duo take command as Tia Williams had 20 digs and Torre Willis had 24 assists and three aces.
Kokomo was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 13 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Western only served six aces.
Having lost for the first time this season, Western fell to 2-1.
Kokomo wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-1 loss against North Miami on the 21st. As for Western, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Mississinewa on the 21st.
