Softball Recap: Monday's Win Is Peach County's 13th in Last 17 Outings

Peach County's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Upson-Lee Knights a 12-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won 15 contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

Alyssa Crozier was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in September of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Addison Dickerson, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in August. Jaiden Carroll was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

Peach County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .595. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Upson-Lee only posted an OBP of .167.

Peach County has been performing well recently as they've won 13 of their last 17 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-10 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Upson-Lee, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-20.

Peach County didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 8-3 loss against Cairo on the 30th. As for Upson-Lee, they have also already played their next contest, a 5-4 defeat against Trinity Christian on the 30th.
