Basketball Recap: San Diego Jewish Academy Lions vs. Coastal Academy Stingrays
San Diego Jewish Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 39-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Coastal Academy Stingrays. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 39-25 two weeks ago.
Coastal Academy found their leader in freshman Payton Kloeppel, who dropped a double-double on ten rebounds and 54 steals. Those 54 steals set a new season-high mark for Kloeppel. Another player making a difference was Heiress Afalava, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine boards.
San Diego Jewish Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Coastal Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.
