Baseball Recap: Dominion Christian Takes Down Pinewood Christian in a Playoff Battle

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Dominion Christian had no problem doing just that on Friday. They won by a run and slipped past the Pinewood Christian Patriots 2-1. The win was familiar territory for the Knights, who have now won three matches in a row.

Nick Gilbrook spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits and racked up six Ks. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Dominion Christian saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gavin Langelotti, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Dominion Christian's victory bumped their record up to 25-6. As for Pinewood Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 18-10.
