Recap: San Diego Cavers vs. University City Centurions
Make it seven blowout wins for the San Diego Cavers this season. Everything went their way against University City on Tuesday as San Diego made off with a 50-26 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win San Diego has posted since December 12, 2023.
San Diego's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mackenzie Nitzel led the charge by dropping a double-double on 11 points and 22 rebounds. Nitzel has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 11 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Lara Saucedo, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and six assists.
San Diego now has a winning record of 10-9. As for University City, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 10-9.
San Diego will be playing in front of their home fans against Point Loma at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for University City, they will head out on the road to square off against Lincoln at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lincoln comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
