Baseball Recap: Woodland Has No Trouble Against Eagle's Landing

Woodland never let their opponents score on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over the Eagle's Landing Eagles. The Wolfpack haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Damian Gibson made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has become a key player for Woodland: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most two hits, but 4-15 otherwise. Gibson was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

In other batting news, Dewaine Mitchell was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. Cj Avery was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Woodland's record is now 6-16. As for Eagle's Landing, they dropped their record down to 0-20 with the defeat, which was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season.

Woodland and Eagle's Landing will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matches. The next time the Wolfpack see the field they'll take on Ola at 6:00 p.m. on the 14th. As for Eagle's Landing, their break will end when they face Hampton at 6:00 p.m. on the 14th.
