Basketball Game Preview: Saint Francis Lancers vs. Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory Fightin' Irish

The Saint Francis Lancers will face off against the Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory Fightin' Irish at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Saint Francis and three for Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory.

Saint Francis heads in on the heels of a playoff match on Monday. They were dealt a 65-31 defeat at the hands of Pinewood. The contest marked the Lancers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory came up short against Priory on Monday, falling 62-42. While losing is never fun, the Fightin' Irish can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 107th, while the Panthers are ranked 18th).

Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory's loss dropped their record down to 14-12. As for Saint Francis, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-9.

Saint Francis was able to grind out a solid win over Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory when the teams last played on February 1st, winning 61-51.
