Softball Recap: Lincoln Northwest's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Lincoln Northwest's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They walked away with a 9-4 victory over the Buena Vista Bison. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Falcons as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

Addy Walker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on ten hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 15 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Lincoln Northwest let Jalyn Teichmeier and Ashlyn Siegel run wild. Teichmeier went 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs, while Siegel went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Those three hits gave Siegel a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexa Dankert, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Lincoln Northwest's victory bumped their record up to 3-22. As for Buena Vista, their defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-18.

As of now, neither Lincoln Northwest nor the Bison have any future games scheduled.
