Recap: Clairton Bears vs. Winchester Thurston
Even though the Clairton Bears have not done well against Winchester Thurston recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Clairton enjoyed a cozy 73-55 win over Winchester Thurston. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Iyanna Wade was her usual excellent self, scoring 56 points. That makes it 13 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Clairton's points. Another player making a difference was K Brown, who scored eight points.
The win makes it two in a row for Clairton and bumps their season record up to 11-2. As for Winchester Thurston, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-7.
Clairton will be playing at home against California at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Winchester Thurston, they will head out on the road to square off against Ellis at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
