Basketball Recap: Temple City Comes Up Short

Temple City suffered their biggest defeat since January 26, 2024 on Friday. They were outmatched by the South Pasadena Tigers and fell 65-35. The Rams have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Abigail Yoshimura and Alexis Yoshimura certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Abigail posted ten points and four steals, while Alexis put up 13 points and five boards. Abigail is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed four or more in the last five games she's played.

It was another big night for Kayla Boozer, who dropped a double-double on 34 points and 22 rebounds for South Pasadena. That makes it five consecutive games in which Boozer has scored at least a third of South Pasadena's points. Another player making a difference was Madeline Park, who scored eight points and nine boards.

Temple City's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-10. As for South Pasadena, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.

Temple City didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 41-34 defeat against Burbank on the 1st. South Pasadena has also already played their next matchup, a 74-26 loss against Rolling Hills Prep on the 1st.
