Soccer Recap: Manzano Comes Up Short at Home Against Valley

Manzano unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-pitch advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Valley Vikings by a score of 4-3 on Tuesday. The game was a 2-2 toss-up at halftime, but Manzano couldn't quite close it out.

Layla Vigil and Jessa Malizzo scored all three of Manzano's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

Coming up, Manzano will take on Hope Christian in a tournament on Saturday. As for Valley, they will look to take advantage of their home pitch for the first time this season as they take on Atrisco Heritage Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
