Lakeview Academy is 7-2 against Pinecrest Academy since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Lakeview Academy Lions will head out to challenge the Pinecrest Academy Paladins at 4:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Lakeview Academy 1.8, Pinecrest Academy 2.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
While Lakeview Academy didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Westminster Christian Academy a 15-0 shutout on Thursday. Lakeview Academy hasn't had any issues with Westminster Christian Academy recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Ricky Brown made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Izze Longoria and Brock Graham did most of the damage at the plate: Longoria scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-2, while Graham scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave Graham a new career-high in RBI (three). Nolan Idol was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.
Lakeview Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .545. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Pinecrest Academy is still undefeated this season after their match against Cornerstone Prep Academy on Tuesday, but Cornerstone Prep Academy came as close as anyone has to beating them. Pinecrest Academy narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Cornerstone Prep Academy 7-5. While the Paladins didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-10), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Mateo Snyder was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-2. Matthew Mitchell also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Pinecrest Academy pushed their record up to 6-0 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Lakeview Academy, their record is now 4-0.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Lakeview Academy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Pinecrest Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Lakeview Academy came up short against Pinecrest Academy in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, falling 7-3. Can Lakeview Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
