Dorman faced Gaffney in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Cavaliers' defense stepped up to hand the Indians a 20-0 shutout. The 20-point effort marked the Cavaliers' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

When it comes to explaining why Gaffney lost, don't look at Chas Smith. Despite the final result, he picked up 155 receiving yards.

Dorman is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 10.7 points on average over those games. As for Gaffney, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-3.
