The Kennesaw Mountain Mustangs will take on the Dominion Christian Knights at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Kennesaw Mountain is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.7 runs per game this season.

Having struggled with five losses in a row, Kennesaw Mountain turned things around against New Manchester on Wednesday. They won by a run and slipped past the Jaguar 3-2.

George Lutz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on two hits.

At the plate, Kennesaw Mountain saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Dietz, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Kennesaw Mountain hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 7-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Meanwhile, Dominion Christian came tearing into Wednesday's match with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.5 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Drew Charter a 17-0 shutout. The Knights' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Jake Jackson was incredible, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in March. Another player making a difference was Gabe Buckner, who scored two runs and stole a base.

Dominion Christian's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-4. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Kennesaw Mountain, their win bumped their record up to 14-9.
