Softball Recap: Thomasville Extends Home Winning Streak to Six

Thomasville had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 12-run drubbing they dealt Fitzgerald on Tuesday. The Bulldogs never let the Purple Hurricane get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory. Considering the Bulldogs have won nine matchups by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Khiler Oehlhof was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Thomasville got a big performance out of Fallyn McDougald, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. That's the most stolen bases McDougald has posted since back in August. Jaelyn Oehlhof was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and three runs.

Thomasville's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-7. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Fitzgerald, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 16 of their last 17 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-22 record this season.

Thomasville will have a chance to go back-to-back against Fitzgerald: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
