Soccer Game Preview: Murrieta Mesa vs. Yucaipa

The Murrieta Mesa Rams will kick their season off against the Yucaipa Thunderbirds on Thursday. Kickoff is scheduled at 5:30 p.m.

If Murrieta Mesa heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Yucaipa took over last week. Yucaipa never let Serrano onto the board and left with a 1-0 victory on Tuesday. The Thunderbirds wouldn't have won without Brooke Smith, who scored the game-winner.

Yucaipa's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2.

As for Murrieta Mesa, they've got a clean slate this season. Last year, they finished on the wrong side of .500 (5-7-2), but they'll be hoping to turn things around this year.
