Basketball Recap: Quincy Picks Up Eighth Straight Win at Home

Quincy had won seven straight home games and Shelby Nussle did her part to make it eight on Friday. The Quincy Trojans blew past the Hamilton Braves 63-13 thanks in part to Nussle, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 15 boards. The match was her third in a row with at least 18 points.

Another player making a difference was Skylar McCarthy, who posted 11 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last eight games she's played.

Quincy is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.4 points over those games. As for Hamilton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-20.

Quincy and Hamilton are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Quincy is taking a road trip to challenge East Nicolaus at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. East Nicolaus will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Quincy surely won't give up without a fight. As for Hamilton, they will venture away from home to face off against Modoc at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Modoc knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Hamilton likes a good challenge.
