Softball Recap: Gunnison's Undefeated Season over After Three Games + How To Watch

After flying high against Montezuma-Cortez on Saturday, Gunnison came back down to earth. The Cowboys came up short against the Montrose Red Hawks on Wednesday, falling 14-4. The Cowboys were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Red Hawks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Mchayla Singer was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Having lost for the first time this season, Gunnison fell to 2-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gunnison will head out to face off against Florence at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Montrose, they are packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will challenge Durango at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. This will be the Red Hawks' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
