Volleyball Recap: North Branch Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with Utica Eisenhower

North Branch faced Utica Eisenhower in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Broncos fell 2-0 to the Eagles. The Broncos just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Aubree Deshetsky paced North Branch's offense, picking up ten kills. Deshetsky got some help from Kylie Doherty and her 11 assists. Hannah Thomas controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Kayla Ostrander was the offensive standout of the match as she had 12 digs and three aces. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last seven games she's played.

North Branch's defeat dropped their record down to 21-5. As for Utica Eisenhower, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That somehow still isn't as good as their 18-1-1 record this season.

North Branch has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Traverse City Central on the 27th. As for Utica Eisenhower, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 defeat against Mercy on the 27th.
