Basketball Recap: Los Angeles Takes a Loss

Los Angeles lost against Diego Rivera back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Los Angeles Romans were beaten by the Diego Rivera Huskies 53-24. The Romans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Diego Rivera found their leader in sophomore Desiree Aguillon, who posted 32 points and five steals. Aguillon's afternoon made it seven games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Brianna Collins, who earned 14 points along with seven boards and six steals.

Los Angeles' loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Diego Rivera, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.

Los Angeles and Diego Rivera's offenses will be put to the test in their next games. Los Angeles will challenge Dr. Maya Angelou Community at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, a squad that's only allowed 24.89 points per game. Similarly, Diego Rivera and Santee (who has only given up 26.93 points per game) will meet at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
