Basketball Recap: Shalhevet Takes a Loss

Shalhevet suffered their biggest loss since November 19, 2024 on Saturday. They were beaten by the Bonita Bearcats 71-39. While losing is never fun, the Firehawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 385th, while the Bearcats are ranked 79th).

Shalhevet's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-8. As for Bonita, their victory was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shalhevet will face off against Rolling Hills Prep at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Bonita, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Walnut at 5:00 p.m. Bonita is facing Walnut at the right time seeing as Walnut is stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
